  • The medical center is home to the Toys "R" Us/Kids "R" Us Institute for Childhood Development (ICD), an internationally recognized evaluation and treatment center for children and adolescents with developmental and behavioral disorders.   • Hackensack University Medical Center has the only bone marrow transplant program - a treatment for patients with certain leukemias and cancers that are not curable by either chemotherapy or radiotherapy - in Bergen and Hudson counties. The medical center performs more bone marrow transplants than any other hospital in the state.

  • Since 1999 Hackensack University Medical Center has been designated as an official kidney transplant center and was the first hospital in Bergen, Passaic, and Hudson counties to receive this designation.
